Hello everyone,

I'm from the Netherlands and trying to figure out what IP camera system is more suitable for me.

Been testing with some hikvision's 3MP dome camera's.

Daytime quality is good but they suffer from IR glare at night unfortunately.

Registered here to look for better options.

Hoping to learn a lot.

Welcome to the forum. IR glare/reflection is caused by improper install or mounting. See post the pdf in post 10 with instructions on how to fix it.

Thank you Fenderman for pointing out this fix.
Reading the instructions it seems that my problem is caused by mounting them directly on a vertical wall.
Therefore the lens is turned to its max position and the foam isn't making full contact with the dome.

or you have something nearby reflecting the ir.

I've allread tried in different positions but stays the same. Without the dome cover the image is great.

I'm considering buying the ds-2cd2332i turtle cam to solve the problem.

Post an image of what you see in the camera and post an image of how the camera is mounted. If you are going to buy new cams, look at the 2mp or 4mp WD versions of the turret.

My dealer told me the ds-2cd2322/42 series have issues with resets during motion detection.
This would be the 2 and 4 MP version of the ds-2cd2332i i guess ?
I was looking for a mounting box for the DS-2CD2032-i i tested with, and since there is no official one, i asked for the DS-2CD2342WD-I and he gave me above answer.

He is full of it. Maybe some older china region hacked cameras had this issue. He just wants to sell you what he has in stock.

You can be right, but he is official Hikvision dealer with 3 year warrantee.
The advise i got till now seems pretty good.
Well there are folks here with hundreds of the 2mp and 4mp wd cameras that dont have those issues. He is lying to you.

Here are some pics, first one is IR off, second one is IR on.
Camera is mounted on a straight wall with nothing in its way.

Why should I avoid the 3MP turret ?
I was offered 4 DS-2CD2332I 3MP 2.8mm camera's here in the Netherlands for 350 euro.
This is 87,5 euro each.
Roughly USD 95$ a piece.

Im not saying avoid it, im saying that the 2mp and 4mp offer improved low light images.

Thanks for the explanation, I can use good advise.
Looking on Alexpress I found these 4MP turrets.

you will have problems with the china versions...if you try and upgrade the firmware it will brick, you need to Bundestag what you are buying. There are many threads discussing this.

I allready tried to get myself familiar with the differences in chinese and european versions.
Problem for a noob like me is to understand which ones are totally useless after they brick, and which one can be reflashed if you're lucky.
If I'm correct, the newer the firmware, the more difficult to flash.
The ones i might wan't to buy are 'old' models from begin 2015 with firmware 5.2.8

That seems a very good price. My dealer told me the 3MP was ok, but it seems not a true story.
Have heared from fellow Dutch person where i bought the synology nas he has like 5 of the 3MP turrets and he is very satisfied with them.
