New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I have a factory edition LaView version of this. Is there any way to get the factory LavIew app to be alerted on multiple phones when the button is pressed? It'd be sweet if I could get it on 2, 3 even better!

What the name of the LaView app used for doorbell? I looked in the app store and there are several versions of LaView apps

The only way I was able to get alerting and door bell ring events to reliably come to all of the devices was to have everyone login with the same userid and password. Using the share feature didn’t work for some functions. That was about a year ago so maybe it changed. Honestly the time it takes to open the phone, and bring up the stream in the app has caused me to just not bother with it most of the time. Rarely do I use it unless I am away from home. I’ve used every app, and they all have varying degrees of success, but none are great with ringing the phone. Until they can get it to work like a FaceTime call, it’s just not going to be that great IMO. Still better than the other commercially available doorbells though due to being locked into their ecosystem.

Yes it work before adding second phone .. it was intermittent also the doorbell button alert was intermittent too until we changed my wife over to shared device and the doorbell button alert work every time on both phone but the PIR event alert is still intermittent I only had gotten like total of two PIR alert all day today.
Well it seems you are not alone with the notification problem. Mine no longer notify's me but it shows the PIR Event. Doorbell still works reliably. Only change I made in the last couple of days was to upgrade IOS to 13.3.1. I guess I will play with it this weekend when I get some time.

Thank for sharing your experience. It does helps us to know it not our settings but at least we are happy that the Doorbell button work reliably so far on both devices.

Yeah I did that. But when I press the button, it almost randomly calls my phone or the wall-tablet. I'd like to have it "call" my phone, the tablet and my wife's phone.

I'll have to tinker some more.

When we first got our LaView Doorbell last summer, LaView informed us not to use the shared App feature. My wife and I have had pretty good luck using both the LaView ONE App and now the EZVIZ App together under same account. Motion notices are still instant on both phones. Doorbell button press Calls rings both phones at the same time, this feature is about 70-80% consistent for us. Our problems are we have old S7 phones which are both running slower and battery lives are dwelling fast :). Need to cleanup our phones, actually we need newer phones. Maybe we will get the new S11 (S20), releasing this month sometime this year. So maybe with newer, faster phones it will fix some of our issues, not holding my breathe though...

I’m using the iPhone 7 with latest IOS, along with the alert problem I have to look at the lag on audio. I answer the doorbell ring and I can watch the callers mouth move but no audio. 5-10 seconds later I hear the audio. Not a big problem but a problem. Looks like this will be a busy weekend.

For us, there is a lag in audio too, but about the same as in FaceTime and Duo, milliseconds difference, kinda like a movie out of sync. But this is at home on our local network. Away from home on Cellular connection is a whole different story.

Final result after using sharp blade to clean up the edge and scrape off the logo

I would suggest scraping logo off first before painting.

I wish I did this first but managed to scrape it off anyway

I think I will paint mine also but I will use the black faceplate and paint the bottom white. Maybe a little less work.

You will paint over the bell icon on the button itself and the paint will wear down over time when button are being pressed unless you carefully mask off the button and the transparent rubber layer which the blue led light illuminate through.

This is the reason why I use white faceplate and painted black over the area which will see less wear and to preserve the bell icon on the button.

When you do, if you could post your finished face plate I will include it with TechBill in the 101.

Thanks...

You are absolutely correct Bill, I forgot the bell part was attached to the faceplate. I thought it was just a hole!!

If you use Zigbee or Z-Wave home automation setup, check out on my post about cheap doorbell sensor in home automation forum

If your painting plastics it might be a good idea to scuff it up a little, 220 grit, and use a plastic primer to make sure you get a good bond.

Well

I am disappointed .... The EZVIZ app isn't available on the iPad2 App store ... I was hoping to repurpose this old iPad2 as a doorbell monitor ... craps! :poop::mad:
