New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Just posting here to see if someone has by chance figured this out:
Is there a local API call to enable/disable the alarm notification? I will be digging into how the hikvision tool does it but it would be nice to be able to sync it with my home automation alarm.

Hmm Home Depot has these for $100 too.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Used iVMS-4200 to reload in the EZVIZ firmware and I was able to reconnect via the APP and BlueIris. Strange how others can change the firmware to LaView and have things work as they should and I was not.
I know, it was actually kinda quiet here until Amazon's EZVIZ Sale :). though I am happy for all the new owners. I still brag highly about this Doorbell, I have never been one to be married to a brand or service. The flexibility this Doorbell has is great. When I share with my Ring and Nest family/friends, they do not even know what RTSP is :)
Is it perfect, far from it, does it need improvement, sure as all things/versions do, but compared to what is out there today on the market, this is a great buy/device.

I second this....

crazy how much more traction this thread has gotten since the amazon sale of the ezviz. I still don't get doorbell notifications on my my phone 100% of the time, but not really a deal breaker for me. Motion notifications work flawless, and the quality is way better than those ring or doorbirds, etc.

I would third these comments. It is way ahead of all these cloud only devices. The RTSP is a deal breaker and I have to say that the latest firmware also stabilized my rtsp stream and wifi connection.
The build is also superior.
I just wish I could integrate it further with a local API.

Anyone here have two-way talk working in Blue Iris? I setup the doorbell as a generic Hikvision 2-CDXXXXXXX camera, and I do receive audio from the doorbell, but cannot activate the microphone to talk back to the doorbell. Just thought I'd ask before poring through the first seventy or so pages of this thread (which I'll be doing right now.) Thanks!

EDIT: Nope, does not appear to be functional. Wonder if Ken can work with it to find something?

2ND EDIT: Setting camera type to Hikvision / Other RTSP does enable the microphone in the iOS app. Don't think it functions, though. :(

EZVIZ DB1 New Owners: Please DO NOT Upgrade to LaView's firmware until we can figure this RCA Logo issue out first (Unless you can live with the RCA Logo)...

Here is what we need to start to address the EZVIZ DB1 RCA Logo issue for those who, after upgrading to LaView's firmware, are getting a RCA Logo in their Live View Screen in the EZVIZ App.

ANYONE who has just recently purchased an EZVIZ DB1 from Amazon (taking advantage of the low under $100 price), and HAS NOT upgraded to LaView's firmware or changed any settings in iVMS-4200 or Batch Config. Tool, please post their firmware version (you can find it in the EZVIZ App under Settings)

Also, if you can look in iVMS-4200 or Batch Configuration Tool under Remote Configuration/Image/Video Display and see if the Logo is checked On or Off, I am limited in helping here since I own a LaView and do not have the Logo option.

Someone here found the trick (Posted in the 101) awhile back to remove the RCA Logo from their RCA DB so I am sure we will find a fix to this.

THANK YOU...
So based on previous posts, it sounds like the RCA logo displays whether you have logo toggled on or off in EZVIZ firmware before the upgrade to LaView firmware. I wonder if Nelly's firmware will behave the same.

I found this old Sept. post:

Allright guys. I just flashed this firmware file on my Ezviz DB1 using the Hik Batch config tool.

LaView Halo One

The logo changed from Ezviz to RCA i don't kow if thats correct? But everything worked fine. Then i added the camera again to Surveillance Station by choosing ONVIF. And it worked :) .

But the strange thing is that the Doorbell still shows up with the Ezviv firmware in the Hik Batch config tool.

After that i flashed the Ezviz firmware back to my DB1. So the logo changed back from RCA to Ezviz. And surprisingly ONVIF still works in Surveillance Station.

UPDATE!!: After disabling and enabling the camera in Surveillance Station ONVIF didn't work anymore with the Ezviz Firmware. So i reflashed it with the Laview firmware. No ONVIF is working again.

I installed the Ezviz App on my phone. And it still says the DB1 is running FW V.5.2.4 build 190716.
Very strange. But ONVIF works :headbang:

So, if you have the EZViz DB1 and the EZViz logo, the way you get rid of it is actually easy, just not apparent from the settings. I did this with a v5.2.4 build 190708 just now.
1. Install Batch Configuration and connect to the DB1.
2. Click on the gear icon to get into Remote Configuration
3. Navigate to Image --> Video Display
4. Check/Uncheck "Enable Text Overlay" - when unchecked the logo/EZViz graphic should NOT display. Toggle it a few times if it's being odd. Once I untoggled it and it disappeared, I couldn't get it to come back. This does NOT impact the date/week display.

Few other things:
  • The "Display Week" item is to display day of week between the date and time.
  • The "Display Camera Name" shows whatever you have in camera name BELOW the date/time line.
  • The little moveable boxes w/text that look like they place the date/time and logo don't do anything from a formatting/placement perspective

RE: my earlier post about freezing in MotionEye/MotionEyeOs - it appears to be smoother/working better on the Pi4/4gb. Letting it run completely overnight to see if I get another freeze, then will turn on motion detection/recording and test that as well.

OK, mine's up and running. EZVIZ from Amazon:

First question: Do you have any Logo in your view screen of your App? EZVIZ App?
Yes, top left of image. Also there was a firmware update in the EZVIZ app.

I got mine from Amazon and did a firmware update via the app once I had it installed over the weekend. That was it.

Have you tried to change to the laview firmware? my DB1 is coming tomorrow so just trying to get ready for the install. I'm getting mine from best buy so maybe something else would be different. i'll post once it's installed.

I am a bit puzzled. Why does everyone want the laview firmware? Onvif events are not working right now as far as I understand and the video feed is working through rtsp.

From what I can tell, besides the logo, they are all hikvision firmwares but with different versions. The laview is the most recent one and for me stabilized my 5GHz wifi and my rtsp stream.

So here is what I know for sure, FOR RCA OWNERS ONLY, the EZVIZ firmware version I have listed in my notes, build 190708 is the version that the RCA owners (who also had the Logo showing but of course it was the RCA Logo), downloaded and used to install/upgrade their firmware, they would turn ON/Check the Logo in iVMS-4200 or Batch Config. Tool, then install/upgrade to the LaView firmware build 190716 to get rid of their RCA Logo, it would disappear. I own the LaView and I have Never had the Logo, nor the option to turn it on or off. So our understanding was it was being turned Off with the LaView's firmware and removed as an option to turn on or off from LaView.

Chadsturgill is one of the many who has done this.

What is being reported is when the New EZVIZ owners turn On the Logo and upgrade to LaView's firmware and the RCA Logo (not the EZVIZ) Logo is showing up in their Live View Screen. What we have not figured out is which EZVIZ firmware version is doing this? My guess is it is the earlier version you have doing so, because we know the build 190708 worked for the RCA owners.

Thank you for helping us get to the bottom of this. That is why I asked for new EZVIZ Owners not to change anything if they want to remove their Logo yet until we figure this out.
