New Setup Thoughts: Blue Iris or NVR

I know I will have to get a new router anyway bc I need to setup some VLANs for other devices they have. However it is nice to know an nvr will isolate the cameras.
One question though; I do believe that no matter what option I go with that the pc and Poe switch or NVR will be in a hidden location and will need to be accessed remotely. I know that I can run a BI pc without a monitor and remote in as needed to save videos make changes to BI settings etc. However, can you remote into and access the NVR? Wasn’t sure how that would work.

Yes can work 100% with those cams you bought from our shop. We did some guide video for the latest new NVR.
How are you finding the AJAX NVR experience, and app?
I'm speccing out a system for a family member and toying between pairing Hik ColorVu or the new 8MP Ajax cams with the Ajax NVR.
The NVR with Hik would provide motion detection, but the new Ajax cams would provide on camera AI object detection, ie. people, cars, and humans. However they lack the white light, and I imagine the sensor size is smaller than the Hikvision. So a bit torn.
In my opinion, the app is perfect, super stable & well developed. Chinese manufacturers can still learn something from this.
If you have an Ajax alarm, this is the ultimate combination in my opinion. It's a shame that Ajax for external cameras does not indeed support AI. I have Dahua cameras in combination with the Ajax NVR.
I asked Ajax about the sensor of the Ajax 5mp camera, which is 1/2.7", so for good night vision it is better to look for Hikvision or Dahua. Ajax does not currently have a varivocal camera in its collection.
My preference was for image quality over Ai functionality, which is why I preferred Dahua. I still have an old Dahua NVR, which runs in parallel with the Ajax NVR for the IVS AI functionality (which is useful in some cases).
The Ajax cameras are very good in terms of privacy, but the disadvantage is that it is a closed infrastructure (no OnVIF), which limits your flexibility.
The Ajax NVR is NDAA certified, so I dare to give it access to the internet, my Dahua cameras are in a separate VLAN without internet access.
This is certainly useful for family members who have less technical knowledge, where for example using a VPN is not feasible.
So installation question. I normally use the Jim Odell method I found on cliff notes for using aluminum bars mounting to soffit. I was hoping to use this method in the new installs at Mom and Dads but ran into an issue.
Their house originally had vinyl siding but they had that removed and brick installed. Looks like it goes all the way to the soffit and any wiggle room has been removed by the installed Hardie trim. I really do not want to drill into the brick but have no idea how to proceed outside of removing the trim which may not be an option.
Any ideas on how I could navigate installation? Here is a pic of one portion of the house, but is the same all around.

Won't the sheet metal bars (if not too thick) slide between the part of the vinyl soffit that's at the gutter and the other end on the top of the Hardie board trim?
If not consider drilling the mortar seams only and tapping in 1/4" expanding anchors, no need to drill the brick.
FWIW, I drilled some Hardie siding a few years ago with a masonry bit and tapped in a 1/4" plastic anchor in about 4 places to secure a run of outdoor CAT-5e with cable clamps that was running to a Ubiquiti Nanostation.

Yes sir from what I have seen, I should be able to slide the bar in there. My issue was running the wire. For example on my house I was able to take the soffit off and run the wire behind via the channel/groove and replace the soffit. Guess I’m looking for a safe way to get the wire behind the soffit to run up into the attic. Sorry should have been more clear in my post.
