Newbie treading water

I am a newbie to all this IP camera stuff.

I know enough about networking to do some basic stuff but quickly get befuddled by anything more.

Hoping y'all can help this newbie keep his head above water. LOL

Thanks! I did read thru the cliff notes....will check the wiki you suggest as well. I do not seem to be using the same gear as what was talked about in the cliff notes....so I may already be at a disadvantage to figuring all this out....

Just take your time...to quote (somewhat) @SouthernYankee : read, plan, study....read again.
Don't rush, there's lots to absorb.
