Here's a listing for a new low power computer than can be used for various applications, including a NAS, NVR or router (pfSense/IPFire), new for ~$110:

DFI Dt122-be 2nd Gen AMD Embedded R-series Industrial Desktop PC 2.7ghz USB WiFi

You can find more information about or in this thread:

(Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

By default it has one 3.5" drive bay, but your can stuff more disks being a little creative.

Cost-wise it seems like a good buy, the only thing that would put me off is the AMD chip

Having had AMD's in the past (twice) I'd only go for Intel-chipped devices

Alos, I can find out very little about this device - at least with a cheap Dell or HP you know where you stand for spares / upgrades or repairs

It's a low power embedded platform (usually not sold at retail, so not much information absolutely) with a standard MiniITX form factor motherboard and uses a standard FlexATX power supply.

The GPU has h.264 hardware decoding and the CPU parts has AES hardware acceleration suitable for things like OpenVPN.u

Thanks @G. Belli

2x RJ45 nic ports! very nice. ( dual nic )

Is this x86? 64bit? ( iirc that's what most of AMD makes for chips )

Looks like a very nice firewall box.
