Here I sit, locked down in my house, working on security system bugs,
I have 12 recently installed HIK IP cameras (with microphone) connected to an HIK NVR with up to date firmware. I want to be able to listen to audio with the video on the IVMS 4200 live and remote playback tabs. I can see the volume tab under the picture, but it is greyed out.
If I log into a camera using the IP_address+port address that IVMS4200 provides and go to live view with internet explorer, I can enable audio in live view and it works fine. (I cannot view recorded video with the browser because my cameras do not have SD cards installed).
The odd thing is that once I enable audio in the browser, and then go back to the IVMS4200 (which I left running when I opened the browser), I can get audio in the IVMS4200 live view screen. The volume button is no longer greyed out. HOWEVER, after that, if I try to do anything else with the IVMS4200, it locks up and I have to use windows task manager to kill it.
I hope someone can guide me through this HIK spider web.
