Hello community,

since a few days it´s not possible to receive E-Mail notifications from my HikVision IPC anymore.

I tested the same SMTP settings on my iPhone and they are still good.
I tested also a different Mail-Provider on the HikVision IPC (as well on my iPhone for testing) but the HikVision could still not send E-Mails.

I´m not using a Gmail-Account!

The Network-Settings on the IPC are correct: Fix IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS

In my opinion this is an HikVision issue...
There is no firmware available for this IPC anymore...

Can anybody confirm this?

Regards Bastian

It could relate to the SMTP encryption/port being used by the camera.

Your mail provider may only support certain configurations that your camera is unable to meet.

This are the SMTP settings from my provider:

Server: smtp.ionos.de
Port: 465
Connection: SSL/TLS

If Port 465 is blocked please use Port 587
In this case change the security from SSL/TLS to STARTTLS

And my provider supports only TLS1.2 (and i activated the checkbox for TLS1.2 on the IPC)

I´m using exactly the same settings on other devices on my network and there are no problems.
I just tested also a newer HikVision IPC without any success!

i also tested a second smtp provider (which still supports unsecure communication via Port 25) - no success!

I assume you've confirmed the credentials are correct.

Do you have any firewall configured which might be blocking this?
Is the camera plugged into an NVR?

The IPC is connected directly to a PoE Switch (no NVR)
I recheck the password and as I sayed the same settings/credentials are working fine on other devices (for eg the Printer/Scanner - after scanning a document I received the Mail). So no issues with blocking ports.

Well something is stopping it.
Either a firewall or the camera no longer functions as it should.

You've tried two different providers including via port 25.
You would expect one of them to work.

I have a camera that won't send mail securely. I can only get it to work on port 25 so I can't use it for alerts.

Have you tried a cold boot? That is to say, unplug it, wait, plug back in. Beyond that, a factory reset might restore the broken email function.

No success!

Did someone else also use E-Mail notification on the IPC and it‘s still working?

I think this is a generally HikVision Problem…

So you've tried two different cameras and two different mail providers and still they don't work?
Did the two cameras use the same IP address or different?

Because it still sounds like a firewall is blocking.

Two different cameras.
One (the new one) for testing in my own network and the other one is still installed on the costumer site/network.

I think it's the e-mail provider issue. I have a similar situation with a Dahua and it used to work the SMTP e-mail as intended until it stopped all of sudden. Sending test e-mails won't send anymore e-mails. I start believing that providers are deprecating SMTP everywhere. I used mail.com, google and yahoo. None of these works anymore.

But I use the same smtp setting on my Printer for sending „scanned documents as a pdf“ to a Mail account without any problems.

Have you tried using APP password ? i know that hikvision did a change some close time ago.

Did you find a solution to this? I'm having this exact same problem, it stopped sending me emails about 5 weeks ago for no reason and no matter what email account I use I cannot get it to function.

Hi!

no, unfortunately it’s still not possible to use my old smtp Service Providers. But with gmail it works

Ok, I have a Gmail account I can use, do you have a link to the Gmail email settings? Thank you.

Edit: got it sorted, created an "app password" for my camera to use and it's now working flawlessly, thank you!!!
