The whole point of using two NICs is to isolate the cameras on a separate LAN from all of the other home traffic, keeping the camera LAN from having a physical connection to your ISP router/modem. See the diagrams below. How you accomplish that is totally up to you.

Hey thanks for the office drop idea and also letting me bounce ideas off you. I think that is 100% the play. Isolated network which means it's secure and an added bonus that my regular network would never get bogged down with camera traffic.

All my research, questions, answers, and reading led me to Dahua OEM, EmpireTech/Andy and Blue Iris.

I have zero complaints and gladly renewed my tech support which is due again and will be renewed again.

Blue Iris at default, works great, for those who want a higher level of performance there are too many options to name.

I came to the same conclusion. :) I just placed an order for all the camera hardware. I also ordered a refurbished HP ProDesk I5-8500 computer to run my 6 new camera's with Blue Iris with a WD Purple 8TB drive. The amount of information here is incredible and I've learned a ton thanks to you guys. I appreciate all the help.
