I need to update the software badly since it's out dated year ago

To be honest, if it's working, I would not mess with it. Most of the Huisun mini-ptz's used Ambarella processors, where this one use a Hisilicon brand processor. It's possible that it may brick if you tried to upgrade using Huisun firmware. Also, "newer" isn't always "better" when it comes to firmware. We see it all the time where people upgrade the firmware only to lose features or have the cam perform worse with no way of reverting back to the original.

I have 4 of the Huisun PTZ 10X cameras and have had them for well over a year. They are working fine and I am not about to try and upgrade the software.

that doesnt make any sense...nvr should support onvif or rtsp feed.
