Some kind of special ducks nesting across the way and have been scouting each morning from atop the boat dock. I need to research them, otherwise, a peaceful morning at the swamp

Yes, "special" indeed....no short legs that waddle like a mallard, white pekin, etc. but instead has longer legs but not as long as an egret or heron.

I can honestly admit seeing a gator / crocodile just zooming bye my home would be hard to get used to!

As to whether or not they taste like chicken - nope!
