First of all, thank you, this is an awesome forum and discussion are very helpful. I am doing my reading, but just wanted to ask a quick question. I am purchasing the famous Dahua cams. So in my case, running 8 cams w/ BI on my Alienware PC, will be a good idea ? Or NVR is recommmeded? e.g., performance, power consumption, any other compatibility issues. Here are the specs:
Cams: DAHUA 2.7mm ~12mm motorized lens 2MP WDR IR Eyeball Network Camera IPC-HDW5231R-Z

PC: Alienware AX51R2-5726BK Desktop (3.4 GHz Intel Core i7-4770 Processor, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 1GB Graphics)
CPU mark : 9803
Typical TDP: 84 W
It will be the dedicated surveillance pc.
Thanks in advance

There are several threads that discuss the differences...if you run blue iris on that pc, remove the nvidia card.
