NVR Recommendation Needed For Foscam

Hi,
I have 24 Foscam FI9900P IP cameras.
I currently use a Mac Pro with Securityspy installed. However, it gets extremely hot, and I actually bought a portable air conditioner just to keep it cooler. It is crazy.
I am thinking that maybe if I got a dedicated NVR that can handle the same job, that might be better and not require the air conditioner.

I want the NVR to be able to handle all 24 cameras and do motion sensing and recording. I would prefer 1080 resolution, but I guess I can live with 720.

I currently have ethernet switches with POE that power the cameras. So I don't need it to have POE or 24 ethernet ports. Although if it does, that is ok too.

My main concern is something that will work properly with this model camera.

Thanks

Its unfortunate that you have 24 foscams..they are bottom barrel garbage.
you can run those easily on a 100 dollar 3rd generation i5-3570 based pc and blue iris. see wiki

How do you figure that an i5 with blue iris would not use a ton of CPU power? Garbage cameras or not, video processing is video processing and 24 * 1080p is a lot.

that would be at 720p or 1080p with some lower frame rates...if you want 1080p and 15fps you will need an i7 3rd gen plus. cost 200-400 depending on gen.

What is "lower frame rates"? 3, 5, etc?
Are you setting the frame rate in the BI software, or in the Camera GUI?
You think BI will use much less power than SS with the same settings?

Not sure how low...best to have headroom with an i7 third gen or higher...yes blue iris will use less because it supports hardware acceleration with Intel quicksync...what processor was in your Mac? You can sell that overpriced mac and get a much more powerful PC for the money

It is a 2009 Mac Pro is a Dual 6 Core (12 core total) Intel Xeon 3.33Ghz with 32GB RAM and 3 Hard drives to split the I/O load of constantly saving videos.

The problem is the insane amount of heat that comes out of it.

way overkill and an inefficient processor wasting power and generating heat. A modern intel i7 puts out little heat.
