NVR4104HS-P-4KS2 4CH "no HDD" always getting logged

been bench testing this unit for many weeks, now put it in someone house and it is giving sometimes "No HDD" in log and on screen and beeping. i turned off the logging of it and have been told it has gaps in the recordings.
hdd faulty or something else?? this thing is a damn pain.

I’d start by taking off the cover and checking all the connectors. Is the HDD manager saying the HDD’s are running?

Do a SMART diag on the HDD. Check the manufacturer's website for tools specific to the drive.

You need to pull the drive and put it on a pc, down this---> WD Software , If your drive has errors, it will give you a code when it does it check, use that code for a rma.

With that number of reallocated and pending sectors I'm surprised the HDD is still working at all.
It's faulty.
