Please help me pick NVR for my cams. Here is my anticipated config.
- 6 IPC-HFW4231EM-AS.
- All connected for PoE directly to NVR via Cat6 cables.
- All camera will be outdoors
- Will connect one 4TB Purple HD to NVR
- All will have 64 GB card
- All Cams will be <= 100 feet
- I would like to store image (or few seconds video) in camera memory card AND/OR on NAS storage. I am not sure about the type of motion detection i may use. I will have to try out a few to pick one. Most probably I will pick tripwire and/or zone intrusion).
- Would like to continuous storage in NVR HD (purple) along with tags of motion detection (if possible).
- Will connect NVR to TV via HDMI
- I may connect NVR to network (for tripwire emails from couple of cameras).
- Future growth in number of cameras is not in cards right now, but I do have two slots spare.
- I do not want to overspend for future growth, I know I will keep this system and live with limitations for at least 3-4 years.
- I am not leaning towards Blue IRIS, I know that is recommended choice.
Qs. Is NVR4208-8P-4KS2 good enough or do I need to get NVR5208-8P-4KS2? I am interested only in H.264 (not H.265).
Q2. What is the main difference between 4208/5208 (apart from price)?
Q3. Do I need to get 16 channel, if yes why since I have only 6 camera.
Thanking you for answers in advance. This forum is very-very-extreamly helpful and is a treasure of information.
