I did give in and ordered one of the pan/tilt listing the other day for $400 +shipping +tax (the base price went up $50 since then). It should be here tomorrow evening and I will be sure to report back. No PoE support is a bummer (24v AC power only) but this is a case where beggars can't be choosers.

Mine arrived from the ebay seller and works. FIrmware is one that wants a plugin to view previews in web interface.

Mind you, despite not being able to see the preview in the web GUI, I can still see the visible and thermal video channels via SecuritySpy.
Here is an interesting comparison of hand temperature of the boss's vs mine. Circulation difference is pretty obvious in thermal.

It might have a ePTZ function? where it tracks a target and zooms in digitally.

Ducks on thermal camera

Short and boring video. These three ducks came past the thermal camera I had watching concrete cure. Captured on a Dahua TPC-DF1241 Relative conversion: 30c is about 86f.

Range is about 250 feet from camera
