Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

Dahua/EmpireTech 5232-16P-4KS2E, x2 Lorex NR908-N
All 3 have V4.002.1CKA000.0.R 2023-12-5

EmpireTech NVR32CH-8XI
V4.000.0000000.5.R 2023-12-28

The 5xxxx series have always pushed IVS notifications even with earlier firmware with P2P disabled. The 608 series (NVR32CH-8XI) will not push IVS with P2P disabled. All are always added via IP to DMSS. I’ve been in contact with @EMPIRETECANDY but don’t have any answers as to why the new NVR will only push regular motion detection and SMD with P2P disabled.

I have the NVR5216 4KS2.
3 or 4 firmware updates ago, they caused this problem where you have to have P2P enabled for IVS notifications to work.

Just checked it's: 4.002.0000000.6R build 2022-11-15. Think it's the latest and most likely the last. Think it was version .3 some time ago that caused the issue with no IVS notifications, unless P2P was active. Standard motion/SMD is not a problem with P2P disabled.

I don’t know what the difference is but the one I have is a year newer
Yours model is different from mine hence the XI / E at the end of the unit description as you stated above.
Almost got jealous that your firmware was better? Newer than mine!

The first models I listed are 5xxx series 4KS2. The second firmware listed is for a 608 series XI

The Lorex NVRs were manufactured in 2016 so they’re not new models for sure but the firmware works fine on them

I don't know where I found the firmware. I assumed Dahua International or DahuaWiki but I don't see it listed anywhere, who knows what random firmware I'm running on those units.

I guess that firmware is a custom specific release, normal releases are using zeros at the position of "1CKA" , see custom firmware screenshot below

Maybe you found the "jackpot" firmware where they fixed the IVS push? It seems you are the only one with a 4.002.xxxxxx firmware that has IVS push messages and no need to enable P2P.

Just installed the 2022-11-15 firmware, figured it wouldn’t let me roll it back but worked fine. I lost IVS notifications. Reinstalled the 2023-12-5 firmware and IVS notifications started working again. Again I don’t know where I found it but shows I downloaded it on 1/23/24. Still doesn’t make sense because I’m sure the 5232-16P-4KS2E I purchased from EmpireTech on 6/29/2022 always had IVS notifications working fine with P2P disabled. Maybe the firmware it shipped with worked and I never updated until the 2023-12-5 but seems like it had the 2022-11-15 when I went to the 2023, can’t recall on that.

@Bumworms I have reacted in this tread , i also did not get the push notifications from IVS. In my setup I do not use P2P and added my NVR as a local IP to DMSS. So still using one of the first V4 firmware release and I do receive all MD and AI events as a push message on my phone ( if enabled in DMSS of course).
From the screens you posted your NVR is using a V3 firmware. I have no experience on V3 firmware so I am not sure it is related to this.
@97JeepXJ Could you provide the type numbers and firmware used on your NVR's which could bring some more insight if the issue is indeed firmware related in relation with P2P configurations?

This did the trick. I threw caution to the wind and upgraded into V4 in a somewhat incremental manner. Appreciate everyone's input.

Would it now be a good idea to try and upgrade the camera firmware as well? Might be a silly question but should camera upgrades be done incrementally? Or do I just leave it all as it's working :)

I would think with a PoE NVR its the NVR doing the pushing so updating the cameras isnt necessary.

Oh, I thought you said it was working

Good luck, I'll say a prayer ;)

Had to downgrade back to 4.000.0000001.4, - Anything past that the cameras drop off and wont function. Added bonus being I can't browse to any cameras anymore @bigredfish do these ports look right?

Virtual Host is ON.

Ok so you’re using the NVR PoE ports, you’ve changed the switch to be 10.2.2.x, right?

So no those ports should be 1,2,3 etc not 37777.
Typically see that when they’ve been manually added vs allowing them to move to the bottom pane automatically by themselves…
