P2P has to be enabled to get push messages from IVS alerts
FYI: I am using a NVR-2108-I with the following firmware version
The following Dahua cameras run via the NVR:
DMSS Android Version: 1.99.710 - 2024.04.17
IVS rules are set up for all cameras and I have
never used P2P here.
Despite this, I have always received push notifications via DMSS on LAN. A few weeks ago I updated DMSS and since then I have had the same problem that IVS push notifications from the cameras only arrive when P2P is activated. MD and SMD push notifications continue to work even without P2P being activated. There were also no IVS push notifications via the NVR when P2P was deactivated.
Because the Imou DB61i can only do SMD and not IVS, I created an IVS rule with
KI by recorder on the NVR. I was then surprised that DMSS received IVS push notifications for the Imou DB61i, even though
P2P was deactivated on the NVR. So I did a test and created a new IVS rule for my SD49225XA-HNR. This time, however, I did not select KI by camera on the NVR, but KI by recorder.
Lo and behold - suddenly there were IVS push notifications again for the SD49225XA-HNR
even though P2P was still deactivated on camera and NVR.
Therefore, for me, the DMSS version I am currently using is:
- DMSS push notifications without P2P work with MD and SMD.
- DMSS push notifications without P2P no longer work with IVS via the camera itself.
- DMSS push notifications without P2P work with IVS if you have created the IVS rule for the camera via KI by Recorder on the NVR.
I don't know why that is, but I wanted to at least post the information here.
I am currently being offered a DMSS update to version 1.99.713 from May 22, 2024. But I don't know yet whether I will install it.
