Time to upgrade the Blue Iris rig.

There are 3 reasons for the upgrade.
  1. Higher max capacity with 3.5" hard drive
  2. Ability to add an extra graphics card and more displays
  3. Looking to support additional cameras with faster CPU
Best Buy happened to have a good sale going on. Figured I will see if the HP is stable and sell the optiplex on ebay later.

avoid T processors...dell 7040 with t processors is likely a mini case...not a tower..

Changed my mind. Dell 7050 small form factor has a similar power requirement. It made the HP at $500 look like less of a good deal when I had to add Windows 10 Pro upgrade and another video card anyway.

Best I could find for an i7-7700 with Windows 10 Pro and USB-C. Is there something cheaper?

Dang :) I would swear those weren't there when I searched. Maybe I clicked on 6th gen instead of 7th gen. Free shipping and the 10% off on Dell.com, plus tax. Still almost $70 cheaper than eBay. I need to check a little more carefully :) I will probably forget in 3 years when it's time to do it again.

The HP came in the mail, and I am reluctant to open it or return it. At $500 it's a decent Blue Iris box and the Dell would make a good replacement for my aging desktop, but I want to confirm how many internal sata ports and slots it has. I am hoping there is a spot for a 2.5" and 3.5" HDD in the Dell. I already have a decent SSD I could use but not a PCI one like the Dell accepts.
