A popular YouTube clip shows combat camera footage of a P-47 thunderbolt strafing a German Tiger tank. The video’s narrator indicates the fighter pilot would ricochet the bullets off of the ground thereby targeting the tanks vulnerable underside. This video will respond to this claim and address under what circumstances could a .50 caliber armor piercing bullet penetrate the Tigers armor.
