Partly cloudy with a chance of Blizzard

Well this mess arrived here in southern Indiana about an 90min ago, the front is still off to our west by about 25 miles, it was 45 at noon today, its dropped 23 degrees in about 90 minutes, to 22 degrees, with wind chill of 5 with gust's to 32. We now have nice sheet of ice on everything, it had been raining prior to the temp drop, now we are flash frozen. ;)
Forecast is -5 for a low tonight with 35-40mph gusts. Wind chills down around minus 35.
2-4" of snow tonight which just started.
High tomorrow of a balmy 8, with sun, wind chills still down in the -20s all day.

The rain just started here about 30 minutes ago. Currently 47.9 degrees outside. By 5:00am, it is forecasted to be -1F, with 35 to 40 MPH winds. The snow should start in about 1.5-2 hours. Forecasts of 1 inch local up to 4 or more inches on the Cumberland Plateau. All on top of frozen ice. I'll post pics and weather stats throughout the evening as everything changes over.Carport.20221222_181410319.jpg

Damn....that even looks cold. I moved from Northern Illinois 32 years ago to get away from the white stuff and the below zero weather. It seems, after 32 years, it has finally found me and has decided to settle in.

I grew up around Pittsburgh and it still wasnt as rough as some of you have it, geesh!

After 25 years in Texas and now 20 in Floriduh we panic when it hits 49. Supposed to be 28-30 here in Lake county Sat/Sunday nights and possibly a bit colder north of here. Many here are pretty sure its the end of the world

Global warming. Maybe if the US did more to cut emmissions....

We're having the same screwy weather here albeit not as extreme:

15 degrees one day, 0 degrees the next 2 days, then back to 15 degrees again the day after!

Yikes! Cold for NW AL, even at this time of the year.....up from a low of 5.2 F. Brrrrrrrr!

Shiver me timbers...........damn, it's cold outside. Middle Tennessee. Couple inches of snow, but now we are in a deep freeze until Tuesday or Wednesday. I wonder if Florida is any warmer this morning?
It's a bone chilling 61° this morning, but expected low in the 20's tonight. No snow, but will be looking out for the iguanas falling out of the trees.

A few days ago they were telling us that it was a one in one hundred years storm coming in. Early yesterday they changed it to a once a generation storm. Today, I realized that they were talking about a generation of fruit flies and even that will be stretching it...
