HI,
I have a Hik Vision's NVR DS-7616NXI-K2. I'm tring to enable Pattern on the DS-2DE4425IW camera. It woks, but stops afer two seconds. Patterns is longer and triggered directly from the camera woks fine. Do you have any sugestion how to slove this problem?

So here is my thought on this.. You will want to look at the cameras WebUI. Then under PTZ and Pattern. Then you will want to setup I guess 1 is what you have there in your NVR linkage. Under pattern 1 you would setup where and how long you want the pattern to run. Then save. Then in the NVR where you have your picture there when you enable the pattern it will run.

However question I have is why would you want to run that pattern on an Intrusion event? I mean I could see it if you had a Preset to make another camera go to the preset so you could get another Angle on the event or if you had Auto Tracking and on an event it would Auto Track but a Pattern just seems like it would remove the camera from a good event..

What is it that you are trying to do on an Intrusion? Understand you said it works fine from the camera when you trigger the option. It might be that it stops after a few seconds because the settings tell it if it detects something to end? I don't know what options are setup on your camera. I know in my settings for my camera different brand I have it setup to run a set time and ignore anything until the Schedule ends. There has to be something either another event action or something in the cameras settings that is stopping it. Can we see the Snapshot of the cameras pattern setup? Might shed some light on what is going on..

In general your summary is correct. I want to achieve a workaround because I don't have auto tracking (Hik's documentation is not very bright). Basically I want to set some patrol when intrusion events occur. I'm not sure but I can't export the pattern. Unfortunately I didn't see any option to change the timeout. I wonder if it's some kind of memory limit limitation in the NVR but I'm guessing

Normally a NVR will take info setup in the camera and run with that data.. Unlike a NVR and Camera from someone that charges way to much that at very dumb together lol.. Anyway normally setting up a Pattern or Patrol there is a timer in the camera that 1 tells the camera when it needs to do what. There is also controls normally in the camera that says things like on motion or event keep going on what it is doing or stop.. to run said patrol/pattern for set time then stop.. However there are also controls that says if there is a new event or new command to stop and follow new command..

So why this can be problematic.. If you setup and you want it to run from an alert on camera 1 telling camera X to linkage this rule. If camera 1 again gets this or keeps getting the same event hit and sends command to camera X then it could stop. Again some or most cameras have it setup that when it stops it is to go to a home preset or guard position or some other name they might call it.. Then in some devices like one of my older PTZ AI cameras it is setup to take action until the action is lost, if it is found again before a wait timmer is over then the camera go back to guard position. However in that camera it can also be setup to just stop..

So for your setup it almost sounds like there is something in the alert camera that is telling the event to stop? Maybe there is an event timer that needs to be set to not trigger again until after a set time like 30 seconds or something like that.. I don't know. I know that right now my cameras are not giving me what I want so I can't even test out an event my self. My old AI camera isn't same seeing it is Analog and camera stores this data in the camera and rejects any action from DVR until time runs out. Also some might have to have motion disabled while in pattern or patrol. If that is an option that might be what is causing the system to stop it is detecting the cameras movement as a motion event and starts a new event..

For instance when I setup a Tripwire in a couple of locations within a camera for cars going up and down. IF a car hit the one going down and the PTZ camera takes 3 seconds to get to the preset location and car takes 5 no worry I get the event> Yet if another vehicle passes going the other way and triggers the tripwire going up before the camera can even get to the preset location or before the vehicle gets to the preset spot the PTZ goes to that preset as a new event has taken over the cameras action from first time request.. So that might be what is going on in your camera it is seeing motion and turning off the event? Way to test for 1 event anyway as long as you are not using that cameras motion alert for the linkage. is turn off motion and see if it will do the pattern without motion enabled if it does then you know where the issue is. however if you are using that camera to set linkage off motion then will be hard will have to setup a different camera to test that cameras pattern with motion off..
