My bro lives in Atlanta (need I say more?) and would like to install a peephole cam. He lives in a high-rise condo, the type that is enclosed and has indoor hallways like a hotel. The front door has an existing optical peephole that he'd like to remove and replace with a peephole cam that records. He wants it such that no one would suspect it's a camera system therefore something like like a ring peephole cam would not work since it has the doorbell ring button outside. He doesn't have a cam system therefore no NVR. He wants to record clips and view them remotely from a mobile device (not at the door). Any solutions out there worth taking a look at? Anything decent in 2023?

Consider the power requirements for the camera. Installed one before for a customer (purchased by himself). Since the unit will be wifi, the battery power consumption is an important factor to consider. In my case, it was a 5Vdc unit (micro-USB), and since the door was near a wall, close to an 120Vac outlet, a fine cable was installed connecting both (not an elegant solution). Other option considered, was installing a rechargeable battery power bank within the door/cam (using a plastic cover to conceal). Before buying, check the app reviews of the potential camera. My customer major complaint was the app malfunction

Guess handing this off the peep hole is a bit over engineering ..
