PoE Power Failover (Diode Bridge)

waste of money...I have never seen a poe switch/injector power supply fail...you are much more likely to see the camera fail...do you have redundant power supplies on your switch/ router/nvr/pc etc...you can go crazy with this stuff..

Yea I guess my mind is in the enterprise datacenter space, where *everything* is redundant. And expensive. And loud. ;)
Although my server (running the NVR) does have a redundant PSU! :D But my switch doesn't. Boo!

Put everything on a battery backup ups. 10 mins runtime will save you 95% of the downtimes. Some genius wired two downstairs rooms in with a kitchen plug here at my new house so my server used to go down if the Bunn coffeepot and Keurig heated up their reservoirs at the same time the downstairs freezer kicked in.

If you don't actively check the power supply outputs, would you even know it if one had failed?

In a dual-supply setup, no, unless you had some sort of monitoring setup (thinking DIY setup like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc).
In a single-supply setup, yes, because your cameras would be offline. ;)
