Well, it's not like I was expecting too much from the FR feature. I do know and did know that it's limited in angle, range, light and in general, it takes a good face capture to be able to do the recognition.
By the way, the maximum distance for FR depends on the cam and the zoom if it's got zoom. For my cams [5442T-ZE and 5442E-ZE] the formal range it about 3-9m and it's more or less correct.

But the problem is not the with physsiblity but with the SW implementation.I was expecting the SW to pick the best image of the same person. I knew it's not as reliable as other ways so I did expect it to function as an extra filter for IVS or SMD.
IF it's a person only -> IF he entered the gate -> if none of his images >80% of a family member..... then trigger the alarm.
I did expect that if such a thing works, it would not work 100% of the times, I did expect that family members would cooperate and look straight at the cam as they enter/tripwire/intrusion zone but I did not expect Dahua to add it as a standalone. It's not even a gimmick. it's completely useless that way and it's a shame cause adding the FR feature properly could and had to be the killer application for that NVR. It could be a good reason for people to choose Dahua NVR and/or to spend extra 200-400$.

Yes, I could see that you're using meters (the proper way, not the stupid ft).
Other than that, you really need a good excuse to live in the UK ;-)
Using pounds, driving in the wrong side talking funny.... there is no real excuse for those.
 
This model just release a new one last week, can contact me for testing. Will release it before full testing.



Bug fix up.

1. Resolve "In the case of front FD and rear FR, there is only face detection at 0-6 am every day, and no face comparison event".
2. Solve the display problem of the local preview rule line of the camera for the number of people counting in the matching single rule.
3. Solve the problem that the automatic maintenance of web configuration does not take effect for the first time.
4. Solve the problem of display attributes of the auxiliary screen prompt control.
5. Solve the problem of AI panel playback, the second playback speed slows down.
6. Optimize multiple target frame selection, and occasionally frame selection of faces is not accurate.

small update about the new FW:
I'm using the 20200814 version. while the list of updates is nice, I didn't come across most of those bugs anyway.
however, the list of bugs and problems of mine was not dealt with.
It's a shame cause the FR NVR could really become a leading NVR and currently the implementation of the FR feature is too poor to be useful.
another area to improve is the web interface. at the moment, lots of important thing (such as adding a face to the DB) can be done only in direct viewing, timeout cannot be skipped and more.
I can only guess that meany users (like me) are placing the NVR in the communication cabinet and communicate only via network.
the pss is not an alternative, when I try to view events I get errors and it's not as useful
after the update, when I try to playback events only(not the general/constant view), I can only see IPC1 apart from that, I didn't see any difference (ether new bug or something I didn't notice before, I'm using the web view).
other than that, no differences that I could see.

I have the playback (search) working (I'm using IE).
BUT if I try to see only intelligent (not general, I'm not looking to see all day, I want to see the events), it would only work for IPC1
 
Hello guys, I bought non-international cameras DH-IPC-HFW81230E-Z-IRA for my international nvr DHI-NVR5216-16P-I.

But my nvr doesn't want to use these cameras.

What can i do to combine them?

I was asking about something else.
My Ai NVR (international) did not want to connect to cameras that made for China.

Once upon a time there was a discussion on the forum about how to change this.

Maybe someone could give me some advice on this, other than buying a new camera.

Now I have found this solution: the RTSP Protocol.
rtsp:/user:user@10.0.0.100:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0

But my cameras have a lot of AI functions that don't work for this metod.
 
They made some ban on the firmware for the chinese market camera.
You can change the NVR to a Chinese market NVR or change the NVR to a 3rd party brand.
 
10-2020 firmware was just released, fixed everything I previously had an issue with (AI Preview playback) but also completely improved the metadata functions on this NVR, this thing is reading license plates like a complete animal!
