I'm having trouble adding a Hikvision camera via DDNS to a Hikvision NVR. It doesn't work via either the Hikvision or Onvif protocols. The ports on the router are open, etc. Using the Hik-Connect app, it does work via the Hikvision protocol. Can anyone help me? I'd like to be able to add my camera via DDNS to record on the NVR.

What ports do you have open? Port 8000 is the default command&control port, 554 for RTSP, 80 for web GUI etc
Worth noting though that this will expose the NVR to the entire internet, with a chance it, and your network, will be hacked and compromised.
Definitely not advised.
