I found a good example of lies being inserted by the media. This is from a green energy article by a liberal column writer for the Portland Oregonian. Since the false info is technical in nature it's easier to pin down than all of the political BS that's shoveled at us.
Lie #1: "Pumped hydropower, a technology that dates back to the late 19th century, is the world’s primary, most efficient storage battery."
The facts: Lead acid batteries, lithium ion batteries, and flywheel storage are more efficient. And I doubt that pumped hydropower is the world's primary storage battery.
The pumped hydropower storage efficiency isn't too shabby, in the range of 70% to 85%, but for this article it needed to be the best.
Lie #2: "It’s also problematic to depend on lithium-ion batteries for energy storage when those batteries require cobalt"
The facts: Not all lithium-ion chemistries use cobalt.
