Unfortunately, the carabiner attaches to just the PFA111 adapter, the very portion getting threaded out by the PTZ's motions. After thread locking, I did leave the cable in place. No particular reason to remove the stainless steel cable.

Here is the camera safely suspended for one-man connection of the wiring.

BTW, don't worry that those sheathing pieces are holding any weight. It's actually lagged into some more substantial wood above that decorative sheathing.

Here is the completed install. I spray painted both the camera and mounting hardware to match the surrounding trim.
