PTZ5A4K-25X and IPC-Color4K-T180 settings...

There is always an issue LOL - fix one thing and create another!

That roof on the bottom with the IR reflection will mess with the exposure and it making the surroundings darker than they should be.

Can someone walk around down there and the PTZ pick it up and track?

PTZ mainly for long range watching and tracking, low light place the PTZ 4MP will be better than the 4K under the 1/1.8cmos.
The IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 surely the best for nearby watching.

Okay... not so good thus far. This PTZ will likely only be good for day use. Maybe the 4MP unit I am getting for the barn to look back at the house will be better for night.

It's not bad if you have decent light at night, there is a street LED lamp right across the street from my house and I can run mine PTZ5A4K-25X 24/7 full color with good result.

Something just not right with the IR controls on that camera.

For whatever reason, I have seen the 8MP cameras on the 1/1.8" sensor under the new GUI struggle with low light way more than other cameras. I don't know if the firmware hasn't been optimized for that amount of MP or if they just had to up the digital parameters so much with the increased MP.

Unfortunately, you are experiencing what many of us say - a PTZ is a great compliment for an existing fixed camera system and should never be used as a replacement for a fixed/stationary camera.

Fortunately, it appears you have a good start with some fixed cameras, so it is just a matter of adjusting your PTZs to compliment them.

As @bigredfish said, they are not plug-n-play and like him, I have spent many hours tuning it in to accomplish what I wanted.

Yep, that is similar to the post I made last night about the IR bounce off the roof.

In this case, the exposure is adjusting to the bright sun, which then makes the rest of the image darker.

Lower maybe had more of the trees instead of the sky?

Changing the field of view to not have so much sky can fix it as well.

The fun of mounting a camera for optimal conditions LOL! One of the other reasons we suggest temporary mounting for 24 hours. But even that isn't perfect as each season or snowfall can change the settings LOL.

Sometimes we have to compromise and accept that we are not going to get ideal 24/7, and then we have to pick and choose on what/when.

Maybe with BI you set up to have it move to a more zoomed in preset during a specific part of the day to mitigate this issue?
