Avoid Wi-Fi like the plague

Thank you fenderman for your post, why should i avoid wifi camera? Is it for security purpose?
no, it will drop connections. Why dont you run a cable?
Also note that any camera can be made wifi with a cheap wireless bridge, why settle for a crappy camera just because it has wifi?

ok.. i will keep in mind.. anyway the wifi camera supports utp connection so it will be easy at any time to connect through cable.. but I still cannot figure out why wifi bullet cameras do not have smart events. Is it a feature that can be found only on more expensive cameras?

you are probably looking at low end models..wifi is usually available in the low end...
it wont have poe...run a cable. use a proper camera. end of story or buy junk then post two months later that you missed important video.

i understand what you are talking about.. as i am in research can you point me a value for money bullet camera with smart events and no wifi? :)

there is no search on wiki and i don't know where to look for.. I am actually looking for ip camera as recently bought a hikvision nvr DS-7608NI-K1(B). As i see turret supports coaxial cable..

If you cant figure out what part of the wiki to look at, I suggest you return everything as this will be way over your head.
No turrets dont support coax unless they are tvi. Coax is used in hikvision tvi which cannot be used with an NVR. Turret is simply a camera design, it doesnt mean that particular camera is an ip camera.
