Wifi absolutely sucks for security cameras. You run the risk of bringing down your entire Wifi network.
Wifi was never designed to have continuous data streaming of the likes that security cameras will create. It will choke.
Bandwidth-you will use tons of upload bandwidth if you go the cloud route. Don't do it.
There is many, many folks here with tons of experience.
If you want a system that is reliable, secure, and robust, then you need to study to learn what you don't know.

Yes. WiFi cameras members have found through experience to be far more challenging. Same with cloud / internet dependent cameras and service.

Recommend a wired on premise system as your core system. If you want to augment it with a few cloud wifi cameras then that also works well enough for many.

Do look at the available models which are currently supported by HSV.

It is very clear that cameras which are able to do better quality image capture are not on that list.

Members have experienced numerous issues with WiFi. As with most answers, the real truth is nuanced.. and thus "it depends".

It depends on the construction of your home, your WiFi system setup, .. honestly, the amount of time and resources to setup a good wifi system in an attempt to handle 8 cameras streaming is more significant than just throwing up one decent wifi router.

As you have already run Cat6 cables to locations, this would be the best to use.

Q/Response: Just want to be able to easily see video feeds pop on on phone/tv. Are there systems out there that allow that? Also what about notifications on phone.

You have to decide what is the most important.

Again the question, is quality of image capture important?

Can you setup feeds to go to your phone / tv as well as notifications .. yes.

Do note, security camera systems are NOT alarm systems, and thus you will also want an alarm system.

Your best option is to learn more about what a good camera can do.

Typical recommendation:
1) pick up a good varifocal 4MP 1/1.8" camera
2) small PoE switch
3) good length of quality cat6 cable with copper wires
4) start playing around ..
