I am new to the NVR space. Looking for a NVR package with 4 cameras ideally plug n' play. I can order from places like Amazon and I see brands like Armcest, sannce, zomodo, trendnet, annke etc.

Can someone recommend me something?

My only requirements are

- I can hook up the cameras to a POE injector and use Power Line adaptors to the NVR. In order to avoid excessive wiring. I was told that some NVRs can't do this... it has to be POE directly to the NVR. Not sure if that's true.
- Comes with outdoor cameras that will operate in cold temps of Canada
- Affordable and worry free; i.e. don't need to reset or troubleshoot every week

Many thanks
K

Ken, do yourself a favour and do a little research and reading on here.

You will then realise you need to avoid the following makes:

Amcrest - AVOID
Sannce / Annke - AVOID LIKE PLAGUE
Zmodo - AVOID
Trendnet - AVOID

If you use PoE injector and PLC then you don't need a PoE NVR. Check out the Hikvision and Dahua sub sections.

I would recommend from personal experience - NVR4104 and HDW4300C from Dahua as I know they can cope with those cold temps and it's plug and play.

Thanks for the tips. Those brands are top sellers on Amazon. Thanks for helping me to focus on what to research. My budget ideally is $500 total give or take.

Most of those brands post fake paid shill reviews on amazon.

They might be "top sellers" but this isn't because of great genuine reviews. You are being scammed if you buy them. The reviewers with blogs are all affiliates who have never touched this plastic low quality crap in their life. They won't last an English mild winter let alone a Canadian one.

Please check out the ones I sent you. They might not be the exact ones you want but it'll be a good start.
