Recommendation Needed: 30x Optical Zoom

The furthest distance that I would want to monitor is about 225 feet, with the majority of distance being anywhere between 50 and 125 feet. This would cover the whole street on our south side from intersection to the corner of our property, including the cult-de-sac. This is the prime area where just about all of the shenanigans occur. And with auto-tracking, I could eliminate one camera.

Just remember auto-tracking isn't perfect and it will lose tracking just when the shenanigans start.

I wouldn't delete a camera and use it maybe as a spotter.

You may find you need to keep the other cameras. All of my PTZs use other cameras as spotters to direct the PTZ to targets outside of its “home” preset.

Very few places I’d use a ptz by itself without spotters. Just not reliable enough coverage
Currently, I have 2 cameras looking in the same area, not including the current full-size PTZ, with that there are 3 cameras spotting in the same general area.

The first shot is the camera watching the intersection, second is a wide shot of the street and third is the current PTZ camera up on a steel pole

Here is a shot from the current PTZ zoomed all the way in. This is a 12X zoom, similar to the Z12

Seems like they perform really well during the day. How are they at night?

Mind linking the models you use?
Trust me you DON'T want these cameras. They are based off of 1/3-inch sensors that may look great with LOTS of light but perform poorly in night/low-light conditions, especially the vari-focal 8mp cameras.

Geez, the things you see when you're not looking. This one is a bit scary looking. She was talking to herself and notice the 2 fingers, scratch & sniff, eww....
