Hi,

I am looking for a PTZ IP camera (2mp or better) with Onvif & POE which I am planning on using for a Geovision system.

I was looking at the RLC-423-POE:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016UCNP08

The price point is fine & I see some other options (Though lacking POE).

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,
Rich

I'm also looking for replacement PTZ for my Geo system. Was running a Dahua SD42212S-Hn for 2 years until it acted up recently (would disconnect and reconnect intermittently). Suspect it had be heat related and in the process of replacing all the caps on the board. Was a fantastic camera when it was working.

I dont understand why the speed dome style PTZ cameras dont have covers so you cant see the cameras direction (easily).

I was looking at this one - good support from the seller after the sale.

The seller suggested this too: http://www.diysecuritycameraworld.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=157&products_id=620 I am unsure if it is safe to stuff it in insulation in an attic (fire wise).

https://www.amazon.com/SW-Outdoor-Security-camera-Optical/dp/B012FQLPG4 (NO POE)

I was also looking at this one which claims to be POE:

This one is very very popular on this site: http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/SxK6Obm

I just dont love that style bullet for PTZ - probably doesnt matter & at that price point it could be worth a try. Reliability for POE seems a bit suspect over time though.

They cant, the IR would reflect off the cover. On fixed domes, the ir is kept away from the lens by a tight fitting foam ring, this cannot be done on a ptz. Stay away from no name ptz cameras or you will learn the hard way that they are unreliable.

I am a bit torn - I have a Loftek D1 which has been in use for almost 4 years - i cant connect it to my NVR so its a bit useless & I was looking at the REOlink PTZ @ under $300. It claims to be POE as well.

The manufacturer states it will work with my Geovision VMS system also - not sure about reliability - maybe get a square trade warranty?
