Getting the hang of it

Hi all,

Greetings from the UK. :)

I have a very simple setup for home security - two Wansview W2 bullet cameras connected to Blue iris software running on an old PC. Has worked fine, and picture quality is brilliant in daylight (see attached) and at night, but I am having terrible trouble with spiders on the bullet cameras, and fancy a change to better camera anyway.

Am possibly leaning towards a Turret Camera, which would be mounted to the underside of the soffit on the garage. Is Hikvision still the way to go? If yes, which model for under £200.

Thanks!

G

That is a good price.
It's actually a very good price. They are currently around £120 on the Aliexpress store where I bought one earlier this year for £80.

Can I ask though, for only £5 more, would the 5MP version be better?
I have not used that model - but in my view -
No, that's not an ultra-low-light model.
It's usually the case that using the higher resolution sensor gives a big tradeoff on low-light performance, so for a not very big change in daytime image quality you get a poorer low-light image - which arguably is one of the more important capabilities.
