Recently picked up this camera and was looking on recommendations on best overall settings. I'm a newbie to the security camera world and was told this was a great camera (night time quality was most important to me ) but I'm not too impressed with what I have seen so far, I also don't have enough experience or anything to compare it to. TIA

that is a poor choice for a good nighttime image. If you want a good nighttime image see the dahua starlight thread or the hikvision low light camera thread...
