Any ideas?

Got this camera in a lot I bought on ebay. Tried all the usual default passwords.

Also tried using an older version of SADP (2.2) to reset it using the password reset utility but still no luck.

Thanks in advance.

If it would accept a tftp update with the exact same firmware, that will reset the configuration back to defaults.
Not for this model.

What passwords did you try? Here's the ones I would do (no point in <8 characters as this model forces at least 8 comprising of letters and numbers)

a1234567
a123456789
1234567a
123456789a

The above with A instead of a.

Usually there is a 5 try lockout so repower the camera when you get to 5 refused attempts.

Hikvision can reset it if you use their newer SADP tool, generate a reset password export.xml and send it to them. But you can't repower your camera until you get their corresponding import.xml if you can actually get them to send it :)

I tried this one but not all of the combos that Enabler suggested.

I will try those tonight.

Edit: So tft update to reset it is a no go?

thanks

Success!

Third one on your list did the trick (with lower case a).

Thanks for the help!
