Looks like the same one, but I bought mine from Andy from Empire Tech. He's got a thread in the vendors section here. Now whether they'd fit existing drilled holes is a whole other question. That would be the last thing I'd worry about, I have a drill and drill set.

Thanks. I see Andy has the IPC-HFW4239T-ASE bullet. Now I have to find the mounting size.

All of that info is available in the spec sheets for each camera on the Dahua International web site.
You know they make a product called Spackle that can easily fill any holes, then you paint over it.

I’m not concerned about spackling holes, I just don’t want cameras and mounts this big. Need to find some that fit my existing install and then I’ll be happy.

While the overall dimensions of the 4231-SE bullet look comparable to the Reolink (with the Reolink being 3mm skinner, but 6mm longer), Dahua uses four screws to mount, so it's not going to be a direct fit.

Thank you. That's why I'm now looking at this 3-screw Dahua: IPC-HFW4231S. But I don't believe it's a starlight. This is so tough!! I don't want the bulk of the 2231 and mount, way too big

Are you mounting these to stone or concrete? Frankly, you're trying to find a way to get a square peg into a round hole. Your requirements for mounting leave you no option other than the same, original cameras. By the way, a 2231R-ZS is actually kind of small.

Ok all. Thanks for the advice. I removed all 12 Reolinks, packaged and ready for return.

I’ve now installed one 2231R-ZS to see if this is a good fit for all 12 cameras. So far so good. Actually much better quality with this 2MP than that Reolink 5MP, and more options. Plus it doesn’t seem to kill cpus on Blue Iris. But only one camera on right now.

One question: I have the MJPEG url for the camera for remote viewing (in actiontiles) but not sure of the URL syntax is for username and password, for mjpeg.

So far I have to login with this:
http://CAMIP/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?channel=1&subtype=1

And would like to have the user and password in that url. Tried a bunch syntaxes but none working.

Why are you using MJPEG and not H264?

Check out this page. Builds url for different camera and modes. Used it to figure out different rtsp feeds from my new IPC-HDW5231R-ZE. Viewed then in VLC to test. I don’t use their software just this handy url create function.

Sorry to revive this thread but I've been looking to get this camera. I know that this camera is mentioned to be no different than the 5231R-ZE sibiling and costs $50 bucks less.

But I did notice that the minimum illumination ratings are different for the aperture values. The 2231 has an aperture rating of F1.4 for the given lux but the 5231R-ZE has an aperture rating of F1.6 for the same lux. If I'm not mistaken, by the internet researching I've done, the lower aperture just means objects closer to the lens will just appear sharper. Horizon and background stuff will not be as sharp. But honestly, probably just a moot difference.

please, at a minimum, read the very first post. "You will note, that unlike the ZE, this model does not have any audio, nor is it ePOE capable, just standard POE. It also only has one substream, and face detection is deleted."
