Review: Dahua SD5A425XA-HNR 4MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ

Got this camera from Andy. Best purchase so far. Auto-tracking is excellent and best camera for night. Plan on getting 3 more from him. My sample pics of the green shed are actually from 321 feet away.View attachment 146977View attachment 146978View attachment 146979
Would you post some night time photos for me plz? I am now using SD5A225 version but I am not very pleased with the night time quality. I am considering switching to 4MP 1/1,8 version.

Thanks. Would you post the color mode version of the night time photo?
The bw pic is with additional ir lighting (CMVision IR130-198LED) since moved to a lesser power ptz by lorex. Keep in mind motion from a color setting would not be as clear. Never update firmware unless it is absolutely necessary. I this case you're SOL with auto tracking. Dahua disabled it, deliberately, in this camera and in the 49225 to force people to buy the newer versions for more money. Strictly a marketing decision, but they are in business to make money after all. If you're lucky, maybe Andy can get you the right firmware and it will overwrite what you screwed up.

Holy Shit!
I emailed Andy about this. Thanks for the info.

@RuralDude - If I am not mistaken, this uses the same GUI as the 4xxx series, so there isn't an "auto track" option, instead you enable it.

Also make sure you are using Internet Explorer - not Edge or Chrome with the IE tab. The Dahua PTZs need Internet Explorer or your track time will default to 15 seconds regardless what you put in.

You need to set up a preset.

Then you need to set-up the Smart Plan with Deep IVS for the presets you want to track.

Then select the object filters you want.

Then go to Deep IVS Rules Config page and you should see Track Time under alarm and Tracking Target size slider.

When setting up IVS rules, I strongly recommend you use intrusion box with appears and crosses instead of tripwire. And less is more. One IVS rule.

Leave min size as 0,0

Make sure that Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection are turned off.

I repeat, make sure Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection are turned off LOL.

If you do not have the above screen with the Tracking Target Size, then you have a version without autotrack.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong and the 5xxx series uses a different GUI layout.
