Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Ha! Yes I've been slacking off badly haven't I? :) My internet wasn't cooperating last night.

Here we go, keep in mind camera is inside on it's scientifically engineered test stand. Outdoor pictures are taken through the window.
All camera settings are still at factory defaults.

I'm very happy with the camera, and with Andy (@EMPIRETECANDY) at Empire Technologies at AliExpress. He did everything he said he would do.

I've had the camera working with IE, Chrome with IE tab, SmartPSS, and Tinycam Monitor Pro, except with tinycam, the ptz or preset functions won't work. I've emailed the developer concerning that. It is a new model after all.

It's been powered up continuously now for about 60 hrs, and no issues.

Yes, test it outside and share us more pics. You can hang it on the wall and make it working then... Lol
 
nothing wrong with a good ole bench test; getting cameras in the winter time can be kinda a pain waiting on the weather to cooperate heh, something this big and expensive I applaud the burn-in period.. now if you spend all day ontop of a rickety ladder man handling a heavy PTZ you know you wont have any problems unless you borked the install heh.

being in a rush is a great way to fuck shit up; Ive dropped a few expensive cameras because I didnt take the time to think things through clearly heh.. take it from me.. speaking of which these large PTZ's I like to attach a safety hook/screw above the mounting point then attach some string in a loop around the top that goes into the bracket.. then you can install the bracket, then carry the camera up, hang it from the line, then phish the cables through, hook em up and then put it together with the string still intact that you can cut off when all happy with everything.. you really need a 3rd hand and being able to hang the camera from the string so you can work without worry is the only way to do it.. some models Ive came across come with a saftey cable to use, but the black face does not.. so make your own.

Good advice nayr, thanks for the string tip.

When I ordered this cam, I hadn't thought the install through completely. When I received it, it was obvious what little I had thought about it wasn't going to work. :) Currently working on plan C.

Are you still happy with the bullet microphone you reviewed back in Oct? Microseven IP Cameras

yep, its nowhere near the studio microphone I use on my ham radio.. but for security purposes its an excellent outdoor mic, I have tried most of em and none came close to that mic.

Ok, may have hit a snag with the cam. Tinycam Pro won't connect via ONVIF, and the author of that program says it should.

So I download the ONVIF tool. It finds that cam as General, and lets me login to the cam. But I can't do anything else without getting an error "Sender Not Authorized" suggestions?

I dont have much experience with that tool, but IIRC it dont 'let you login'.. you give it credentials that it saves and tries to use with every request; it looks like your supplied credentials may be invalid.

I perfer to create individual logins for applications I use and never give the generic admin login to anything as repeated failed logins will lock an account down.. so add a us r called: tinycampro with full PTZ and viewing permissions and try that.

Question: i see that the cables from the camera are long on a photo where they come through the wood of the test there.

Is there some room in the bracket of the camera if you want to use POE, so only a rj-45 cable to the camera ?
 
probably if your determined, but it'd be a tight fit.

I used a corner mount bracket with mine and it left just enough space behind it I could tuck the plug into so I didnt try hiding it inside the hanging tube.. I even have all the alarm IO's wired up but I soldered em because I think wire nuts wold have been too big.

Bummer, with my hikvision ptz they nicely fit in the bracket.
I will need a corner bracket also, as that is the solution to be able to look around the corner of the house.

Dahua has PFA151 for it: PFA151 | Dahua Technology
More expensive with like 40€, but will most likely fit the dahua mount of the ptz without drilling holes.

I would have to order before house builder is starting on the eves, so i can have it installed with a conduit exiting the brick wall behind it for the cleanest look. (Will be their risk of breaking the bricks when drilling at the corner..)

I think it would be struggle to put the wire into the bracket without causing problems. They do sell this junction box that I will probably use on my install.

Sorry, not sure what you mean by condition settings. if you mean Device Config, I so far have had much better luck just using the webplug-in in IE for settings and such. SmartPss gives me an error message for example, about "Get Video Input Ability Failed" when I go to Device Config, and click on Camera list, then click the camera button.
This very well may be user error on my part, but I've yet to overcome it.
 
I perfer to use the WebUI for the vast majority if the setup; SmartPSS is largely for day to day live-view and playback of recordings.. but sometimes I want to make mass changes to all my cameras and SmartPSS is typically easier, it can handle the basic config stuff usually w/out issue..

I have cameras from alot of generations, web plugins can take some work to get loaded as they all require different versions of the same thing to be installed.. so most of the time I use the WebUI w/no plugins loaded and I'm watching the results in SmartPSS on its own display.

SmartPSS is the best way to use a PTZ, clicking to move, drawing zoom boxes and scroll to zoom are pretty effective once you get used to em..

if your heavy keyboard user like me; you can fire off PTZ presets using system wide hotkeys/scripts if your determined enough.. then when your at the computer and you want to change the PTZ's fov as fast as possible you can train your self to do it pretty much reactively.

In the Browser it's under "Camera -> Conditions", it's where you set WB, Exposure, Backlight, etc. I've only been able to get the plugins to work under Firefox and even then the plugin crashes. The only SmartPSS that I have gotten to work with my SD59225 is 1.14.
