Russische dienst hackte camera's

Russen hebben in Nederland "een klein aantal" particuliere camera's gehackt langs routes waar militaire goederen worden vervoerd. De inlichtingendiensten AIVD en MIVD hebben de eigenaren gewaarschuwd zodat ze maatregelen konden nemen, meldt Defensie.

Het gaat om camera's die via het internet toegankelijk zijn, zogenoemde IP-camera's. Het gaat onder meer om camera's van bedrijven. Volgens de inlichtingendiensten voert "ten minste één Russische inlichtingen- en veiligheidsdienst digitale spionageoperaties uit via IP-camera's in Nederland"
Ook in andere EU- en NAVO-landen en Oekraïne spioneert Rusland op deze manier, aldus de diensten. Zo verkrijgen ze informatie over militaire transporten en wapenhulp aan Oekraïne. Nederland is interessant als belangrijke steunpilaar van Oekraïne. In dat land is volgens de diensten de informatie die met IP-camera's is verkregen gebruikt om militairen en materieel aan te vallen.
