SD6AL245U-HNI vs SD6AL830V-HNI DORI Distance

How can the SD6AL830V-HNI have a further DORI Distance at 30x than the SD6AL245U-HNI at 45x? I get the SD6AL830V-HNI is 4K but almost double! Is this possible? Also, the SD6AL830V-HNI is listed as a Laser PTZ Network Camera but in the the specs it lists a 1/1.7” 12Megapixel STARVIS™ CMOS so wouldn't it be a Starlight Laser PTZ Network Camera?

You cant really go by the DORI distance that they post. They will post a exaggerated distance.
They claim "Detect at 3892meters" for the IR, that is 2.4 miles, Its not going to happen.

Your camera may see that far but the IR led is not going close to that distance.
Just because the zoom will go further does not mean the IR can do that. The new IR leds do light up a dark area very well, but the laser should go much further. With a large price increase.
The SD6AL830V-HNI is only a 8MP camera, not a 12

The listed DORI distances presented by Dahua from what I can tell use a lesser standard for pixels per foot when I compared them to 100 ppf, so I would use them as a comparison between different Dahua products and not a perfect planning measure.

DORI is for image during full light and good conditions. It's like "in best possible scenario" using:
Detect - 25pix/m
Observe: 63pix/m
Recognize: 125pix/m
Identify: 250pix/m
according to EN 62676-4

Because of 4x more pixels, and much bigger lens in 6AL830 the distance is bigger.
Remember that 45x zoom doesn't mean it will "see further" than 20x zoom.
45x can mean 3-135mm lens and 20x can be 100-2000mm
