Its says... V5.3.5 build 161112

My stock Hikvision Cube is V5.4.1 build 160525

So clearly the clone is an older version. Not really fussed about vulnerability. As others have posted any IP camera can be hacked with the will and determination.

PS Re hacking wouldn't you have to be on the same subnet to enter that command ?

I know I posted these pics in another post but just to complete this post.

Two shots day and night. I think if you can buy this camera in the USA for £31 its a steal!

Even in the UK at £55 its still great value.

Thanks. v5.3.5 build 161112 is the latest firmware that Annke has. That was an update to mine but I'd had it for a while now so apparently they are getting cams with later firmware installed. Unfortunately it's not updated enough. Looks like your stock cam also may be affected.

From Hikvision's notification:
DS-2CD2xx0 Series
Afftected: V5.2.0 build 140721 to V5.4.4 build 161107
Resolved: V5.4.41 build 170309 and later

I'm not particularly concerned either for my own purposes. I assume that they're all security nightmares and treat them accordingly. But we around here aren't really the norm as far as buyers and this one doesn't take much will or determination. They need to fix it and people at least need to be aware.

Not in the case, for example, if it's exposed to the Internet by port forwarding as many do or if a port is inadvertently opened via UPnP, etc.

Got mine up and running with my HIK NVR, can access the Smart Event features etc, but am having issues saving the settings within the NVR, saving in the Camera seems to be ok.

It came with the 5.3.5 Firmware on it.

Can post some more pictures later in this thread.

Picture quality is OK, I wouldn't say brilliant.. It's being used as a pet watcher at the moment, but it might be migrated into the garage.

Are you based in the UK or did you get it for $41.65/£31 in the USA ?

I'm in the UK, so got it from Amazon over here on one day delivery, a nice little camera.
If I was going to do anything more specialised then I'd probably go for a 4MP HIK one, albeit at the increased cost, but for a quick overview camera or for just monitoring the garage it does just fine.

Just received mine from Amazon.
Here's a peek inside for those that are interested.

There are seals around the mic and speaker but many other holes in the case. If you mount this outside make sure it's sheltered.

And a request...I thought I'd tweak the focus (even thought it was pretty good) and even though I thought I was careful, when I plugged it in via POE some magic smoke came out.
The camera still works via the power adapter and the only damage I can see is the chip with the red arrow pointing at it. The part number was partially destroyed but what I can make out is SI34?2. Could someone confirm the part number on that chip?

A search of si34x2 shows SI3402 to be the closest match. It's a POE controller with the correct number of pins. I'd really appreciate it if someone could confirm the number for me. If that's the one they are only $1.78 from Digikey and I have some other things to order from them anyways.
