Just asking again, since it seems to have been missed. I know the connection part of this equation, I just need to know how I assign new IP addresses to the cameras (I presume through the camera GUI?) in the 192.169.2.XXX range and block them from the internet. Any pointers?
I believe when initializing the camera, it defaults to P2P setting being selected unless you uncheck the box. I doubt I unchecked the P2P box, so can it be disabled after initialization?Yes you asign the camera IP in the camera GUI under "Network"
Blocking them from the Internet is a whole 'nother thread. I dont and as long as P2P is turned OFF on the camera, it wont try to send anything out (assuming relatively new Dahau cameras)
* When I say "I don't" I mean that I treat them the same way as my laptop, my phone, and my TV. All are connected to my LAN and all trade an immense amount of traffic with the Interwebs. My Dahua camera just sits there and does not attempt any communication of any type to the Interwebs
So, my question is, if P2P was accidentally enabled in initialization, can it be disabled in the GUI? Or do I need to reset and re-initialize?yes. As long as you're not using P2P to connect for remote viewing. ***But if you are using a Dahua NVR the NVR does the P2P so still no need for it to be turned on in the camera
