I obviously need to modify my system. CPU averages between 80-100 %, which I assume is 'bad mojo'. The system is dedicated to only Blue Iris.

Window 10 64 bit
Intel i7 950 @ 3.07 GHz
32 RAM
8GB HD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

7 Hikvision Turrets, DS-2CD3332-I at 3MP (2048x1536) 10fps
2 Hikvision Turrets, DS-2CD3332-I at 3MP (2048x1536) 15fps
1 Huisun Mini PTZ, 2MP (1920x1080) 10fps
2 AXIS M3005 mini domes 720P (1024x768) 10fps
1 HISECU 1080P mini cube (1920x1080) 10fps
Need a newer i7. Without an additional video card. BI can't use it. U want integrated intel graphics. That'll help ALOT.

Interestingly, I picked up an i7 4770 system to try with BI. Similar in almost every way to my i7 3770 computer. Both SFF Lenovo (Lenovo M92p and Lenovo M93p), similar chassis. My three drives and 16GB RAM were moved over - no change in software other than different drivers.

The 4770 system shows the same CPU usage for the BI service as on the 3770, but the 4770 system spends a lot of CPU time on other system resources (System and interrupts). Bi takes 8%, but the total CPU usage is closer to 15% (85% idle time).

I tried a fresh install of Windows - no change. I tried to find a driver version that may more optimally handle the network activity and/or disk drive interrupt time, but I've had no luck. My M92p i7-3770 system ran at a lower CPU % and lower power consumption than a near-identical M93p i7-4770 system. The 3770 used about half the total CPU resources as the 4770.

Just one of many variables one can experience. The Lenovo M92p appears to be a great system for capability and overhead. It runs better than the newer M93p.

There are some steals out there for hardware though. I just picked up an i5-3570 ultra small form factor system for a htpc upgrade - $100. Has room for one hdd, or one hdd + one drive in the optical bay. Such a compact system would work well with one of the cheap Intel S3500 800GB SSDs, rated for 240GB of writes per day for 5-years. The SSD is frequently under $200, and locally by me can be had for $160.

Could we maybe also add power consumption ?
With the rising electricity prices, this becomes more and more important.
