For me, two big advantages to BI are (1) it can do its own motion detection (so you get the same capabilities across any cameras you use with it, which means you can mix and match camera brands and have great advanced motion detection across all of them .. something a regular NVR can't do), and (2) that it's constantly under development. Between smaller new features and bug fixes, there are usually new BI releases every few weeks.I’m wondering if Blue Iris is the way to go. Seems like it has more pros than cons versus any of the NVR hardware out there.
