Hey all. New Dude on the Block here.
I just purchased a new AP004 camera from someone on eBay. I can configure the camera ok and can get video working through the hardwired CAT 5 cable. I'm also using Windows 8. I want to use this camera remotely. I checked the wireless box in the configuration and set up the router information. Also made my IP static. Disconnected the CAT 5 cable. Rebooted the camera and I can not receive the camera. I ran a IP scanner and that IP does not show up. I ran the P2P app on my iPad and configured it to receive the camera ID. It will not connect. The camera will only work while hardwired to the router. I'm sure I'm picking up the WIFI signal because the CAT 5 is going through the router and I'm seeing the router. I've installed around 15 of these types cheaper types of cameras using the software on the CD. I think I have everything set up correctly. I'm wondering if I have a defective camera or possibly I'm doing something wrong.
I've been reading some of your threads here and I'm hearing kinda the same problems.
Can anyone here help me? Is there something else I need to do? What am I missing? Is there a mechanical switch somewhere? Is there a group forum for Sricam or a Sricam Tech office that can help me?
This has been going on for 2 days now. I'm about ready to take the camera out hunting!
