stand alone hik cam with sd card

a buddy has a building that only has electrical in it on his property. we were looking at throwing a hik with an sd card in it. will they work ok as a standalone recorder with the sd as long as i set the IP to a static IP or will it not work correctly?

Yup it will work, I've been running my Hikvision Cameras with SD Cards since I outgrew my 4 channel NVR,
I Have motion set up to start recording
