I have reviewed as many threads as possible and cannot seem to locate my answer, but I wanted to see if anyone knew off hand.

Looking to order a couple Dahua-2MP-H265-WDR-turret cams and wanted to know if the audio is passed back to the NVR recorder via the ethernet, or do you have to run a separate cable for the audio signal?

Thanks,
-Tim

the starlight turret has a built in mic

the starlight turret has a built in mic

I understand it has a built in mic, but my question was does it pass the audio signal via the POE ethernet connection, or do you have to run a separate shielded audio cable to carry the audio signal?

Thanks,

as with EVERY ip camera that has a built in mic or mic in, it passes via ethernet otherwise what would be the point...

And to put a fine point on it, audio will be embedded with that video stream of the cameras recordings.

I've got a Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z (with built in mic) connected using ONVIF to a Hikvision NVR. My NVR decodes the ethernet fed audio fine, but I did have to try a few different codecs/ audio sampling rates and turn off the noise filtering.
