Stupid question

I hope you're on good terms with that family member. Down here in the Great Nanny Sate, any transfer of ownership of a dwelling requires an inspection of the dwelling. Of course sometimes those inspections are quite cursory. We were in the house when our inspection was done and the inspector asked us where the stairs were for the 2nd floor. It's a ranch house, 1 story, and he was parked in the driveway next to the house.

Insurance agent was here when we took ownership. was picking apart all kinds of safety issues that I had to address. but didnt open any cupboards. home inspections can be waved around here.
